    Biography
    Dr. Nazemi is proud to be an Osteopathic Physician (DO). Her training rests on the belief that the body has an innate capacity to heal itself, and that a physician’s job is to clear what’s in the way and support the body in building strength and vitality. Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Nazemi is passionate about healthy aging, prevention, women’s health, and menopause medicine. Her practice includes osteoporosis prevention, bioidentical hormone therapy, and lifestyle-based care that builds muscle and supports healthy weight loss through nutrition and resistance training. She has completed coursework in hormone replacement therapy and is pursuing certification in Functional Medicine. After a degree in Psychobiology from UCLA, she studied fine art in Europe, joined art collectives in San Francisco, and earned a master’s in theater and stage production. Those years deepened her understanding of people and the many walks of life. Working as a behavioral therapist with children with autism sparked her curiosity about their diagnoses and treatment, and ultimately led her back to medicine. She earned her doctorate at Western University of Health Sciences and completed residency at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. After her training, she then practiced rural medicine on the Big Island, and worked as a hospitalist and nursing home physician in Maui before returning home to Southern California. Dr. Nazemi builds true partnerships with her patients, who take an active, equal role in their health.
