Dr. Bussel is a board-certified Internist who has been practicing Hospital Medicine in community and academic settings since 2018. Prior to joining Providence, she worked as an Associate Professor of Medicine at UC Irvine Medical Center where she taught and mentored medical students and residents in her role as the Physician Advisor to the Internal Medicine Interest Group. She also lectured widely across departments in her role as a Physician advisor for the Clinical Documentation Integrity program.
Dr. Bussel’s clinical interests include anti-aging and functional medicine, medical education, evidence-based medicine, chronic disease management, migraines, and gastrointestinal disorders. Having personal experience as a patient herself, Dr. Bussel’s philosophy around patient care centers around building a strong therapeutic relationship with her patients governed by empathy, communication, education, trust, and open mindedness. Her favorite aspect of patient care is making patients and their families feel like they are not alone in their greatest time of need.
In her free time, you can find Dr. Bussel tending to her garden at home or running around the beaches and parks of OC with her toddlers and husband.
