    Biography
    Dr. Andrew Torres is a fellowship-trained Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton. Originally from El Monte, California, he is the first in his family to graduate high school, attend a four-year university, and become a physician. He earned a B.A. in Neuroscience and Spanish from Drew University, completed a Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program at UC San Diego, and received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from A.T. Still University in 2022 as a Graduate Health Professions Scholar. He is a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Osteopathic Honor Society. Dr. Torres completed his family medicine residency at Family Health Centers of San Diego, where he developed a lasting commitment to serving underserved communities and addressing health disparities. His path to palliative medicine was shaped by caring for his older brother, Adrian, who lived in a vegetative coma for nearly fifteen years following a traumatic brain injury — an experience that continues to inform his advocacy for patients, his commitment to clear communication around serious illness, and his compassion for families navigating difficult circumstances. Dr. Torres' clinical expertise includes advanced symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, hospice referrals, and health equity promotion.
