    Biography
    Dr. Michael Kao completed his Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. He dedicated two additional years of research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and his work on developing novel targeted therapy for HNSCC was awarded the Ballantyne resident research award in 2015. He practices comprehensive General Otolaryngology and has a special interest in voice and swallowing disorders, thyroid surgery, sinus and nasal disorders, head and neck oncology, and sleep surgery.

    Dr. Kao grew up in Northern California and earned his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College.

    His wife is an Orange County native and Anesthesiologist, they are both excited to be back in California. Dr. Kao enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and labradoodle. His hobbies include hiking, traveling, playing tennis, and shopping at Costco.     Read More
