    Dr. Brian Hwang is a neurosurgeon and former Green Beret combat medic (18D). He is currently serving as a neurosurgeon for the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health.

    Dr. Hwang graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, NY and completed his neurosurgery residency training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He also completed dual fellowship training complex spine surgery and functional neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins.

    Dr. Hwang specializes in the disorders of the brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nerve. He treats various conditions including brain tumor, degenerative spine disease, spinal tumor, traumatic brain and spinal injuries, epilepsy, depression, trigeminal neuralgia, Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and peripheral nerve entrapment and injury.

    Dr. Hwang is passionate about research, development, and innovation in the fields of neurosurgery and biotechnology. He has conducted extensive research in epilepsy, advanced neuromodulation, robotic surgery, stroke, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, facial pain syndromes, and surgeon performance optimization.

    Dr. Hwang understands how stressful neurosurgical conditions can be for patients and their families. He believes in forming strong, longstanding partnerships with patients, families, and other health care professionals to deliver individualized, evidence-based neurosurgical care to achieve optimal outcomes.
