    Biography
    Mohammed M. Ali, MBBS, MD, ABFM is Board Certified in Family Medicine.  He is the Medical Director of Health and Wellness Center, Inc. and practices Family and Integrative Medicine (a combination of traditional and holistic medicine).  He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from India and moved to the United States in 1998 and started doing research in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Ali completed his Residency in Family Medicine at the world famous Cook County Hospital in Chicago and received the “Best Resident Teacher of the Year” Award in 2003.

    Dr. Ali’s interest in Integrative Medicine stems from many different personal and professional sources.  He has a strong family background in Ayurvedic Medicine and has seen many ailments being cured with natural remedies.  While working as a physician in the outpatient and inpatient settings over the years, Dr. Ali witnessed the detrimental side effects of modern medication on his own patients.  In the nursing homes, he saw elderly patients with poor metabolic function being treated with 15-20 medications and suffering with their side effects.

    As a result of these experiences, Dr. Ali changed his philosophy of treatment. His philosophy is to, first, do no harm to the patient with unnecessary medication. He believes in providing all the nutrients and hormones necessary for the human body to heal itself.  He strongly believes in the building of a good immune system and a healthy lifestyle by working on The Three B’s (Brain, Body and Behavior).

    In addition to traditional family medicine, Dr. Ali specializes in Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), regenerative medicine, and weight loss. He treats chronic conditions like obesity, hypertension, diabetes, COPD, cognitive heart failure, coronary artery disease, arthritis, autoimmune conditions, male and female sexual/hormonal disorders such as menopause and andropause.

    Dr. Ali provides the diagnosis and gives patients the option of being treated by the modern medicinal approach or the more natural approach or a combination of both.  Dr Ali has been very successful at and takes pride in treating high cholesterol naturally without statin medications, with a very few exceptions.
