My patients range in age from teenagers to great-grandmothers, and it gives me great joy to help each of them live long, healthy and vibrant lives. I recently had a patient tell me that she knew no matter what health crisis she faced, I would be at her side protecting her. That's exactly what I want all of my patients to be confident in: that I am at their side, looking after them, working with them to achieve the very best outcome.
Prevention is important for all ages, so when a patient comes to see me it is a priority to make certain that, from head-to-toe, we're doing everything possible to improve or maintain their health.
I treat my patients as if they were my own daughter, sister, mother or father. While many use this expression as gimmick, for me, it simply describes the only way I know to provide care: with my whole heart. For instance, when a patient told me she didn't understand the directions she had been given by her kidney specialist, I called the specialist, put him on speaker phone and the three of us walked through everything she needed to do. To help ensure a patient's health and well-being, I am happy to go the extra mile.
